What do you specialize in?
I would say as a natural CrossFitter I don’t have a specific specialty. I’m pretty naturally above average in all aspects of CrossFit from the warm up, to barbell, to gymnastics, to working the different metabolic zones. But if I had to choose what I really love to coach individuals, I love teaching gymnastics. Watching someone get their first kipping pull up or muscle up is a rush I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of.What are you passionate about?: Currently in my life, I am passionate about two things: CrossFit and health care. I coach CrossFit because it brings me a lot of joy seeing our amazing members everyday and watching them grow not just in their fitness but in their confidence throughout their daily lives. I am also passionate about CrossFit because it has become a family affair. I love getting coached by my brother, Derek. I love getting to spend my days learning and laughing with him. I am also equally passionate about health care. I am currently a part of a radiology program where I can hopefully help people identify any malfunctions they may be experiencing in their body so they can get to the healthiest version of their self. I love helping people in any fashion.

What do you love most about coaching your members?
My favorite part about coaching is giving people confidence when they can’t find it themselves. A lot of people are scared off by the word crossfit. But after spending one class at Squad, they feel more at ease because they realize we just want to push them to their own personalized limits. And after members have realized that, they relax and they learn. Watching people learn their limits and when to push beyond them, that’s when people gain confidence. That’s when they hit Pr’s and learn new skills. And those are the exact moments when I realize I love coaching these people.

How did you end up as a CrossFit coach?
What path brought you here?: A few years ago I watched my brother, Derek, do a competition in Tampa. It was my first time seeing CrossFit but I recognized some of the movements from high school weightlifting. I also loved being active but I never wanted to partake in group sports. So that’s why I was immediately attracted to CrossFit because you get a group environment but you work individually. After my initial exposure, I knew I wanted to try it myself. Because I like being competitive, but I also loved having something to talk with my big brother about. Our age difference always put a big gap in giving us stuff to bond over, so I loved the whole idea of CrossFit . So after about a year of CrossFit, I was just approached by my gym owner at the time in Orlando about getting certified and I decided why not, extra cash and I didn’t have to pay for a membership anymore. Sweet.

What do you do when you’re not CrossFitting?
When I’m not CrossFitting, I live an exciting life filled with naps, food, and movies. I love movies. If I only had two hours and I had to choose between a really good workout and a really good movie… I’m not sure which I would choose. What’s your favorite quote?: ”If you ever get beat, you better get beat by someone that’s just purely more talented than you are. It better not ever be because you beat yourself.”

Anything else you want people to know about you?
Don’t be scared or feel intimidated, just do the best you can do everyday and you will be successful in everyone’s eyes. Even in your own eyes.

Sarah started her CrossFit journey while she was battling her eating disorder. She loved the push and used that fire to power through rehab and into recovery. Sarah immediately knew that she wanted to compete after her first Open and began the journey of a competitive CrossFit athlete. Along the way, she has obtained her CF-L2 as well as her Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification. Sarah believes in pushing the boundaries to become the best human possible. When she’s not in the gym, you can find her playing with her dog or surfing.

CrossFit Level 2 certified trainer, Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification

I spent 15 years as a competitive swimmer. I have always surrounded myself with other athletes and I love the push you get from others training beside you. I Made my way down to south Florida when I enrolled in Palm Beach Atlantic university.

I Studied Human health and performance. Coming out of school I wanted to find a way to help people in their fitness journey and help change their lifestyle. I came across the CrossFit squad in 2021 and saw that the common goal in the gym was to get 1% better every day. I wanted to be a part of something that was true and had the best interest of the athlete in mind. And that’s exactly what the CrossFit squad does, and I couldn’t wait to be a part of it. I love watching people walk in with no CrossFit experience and after a few months they’re doing movements or lifting weights they never imagined they could do, it’s the most rewarding thing to see as a coach.

Growing up Caity was a gymnast and runner. In middle school, She played softball and basketball for a few years until she started competitive All-Star cheerleading. In high school, she was a Varsity Cheerleader and Varsity Weightlifter. In college, she started going to global gyms and started running again, then eventually became involved in boot camp classes and OCR. It was at this time that her boot camp coach encouraged me to try a CrossFit class. She instantly fell in love with the sport as it combines her athletic background of gymnastics, running, and weightlifting. she started Olympic Weightlifting at her first CrossFit gym within that first year.

She’s been doing CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting for about 3 years now. Caity competed in 6 Olympic Weightlifting Meets, including the Florida State Championships.
